The /r/
[r] & [χ]

Although not considered a pitfall, the consonant /r/ can be confusing because it can be pronounced in two different ways depending on where the /r/ is on the word. 

Using the rolled /r/ may be easier for non-Brazilians and would be a good starting point. My advice is: when in doubt, “just lightly roll it!"
